Rounds
Round 1: Presentation and Pitching of Comeback Advertisement
Overview: A hypothetical company and its crisis scenario will be given at the Rep's meet. The participants' task is to develop an advertisement that effectively showcases the company’s comeback to the market. This round tests their creativity, strategic thinking, and understanding of crisis communication.
Pre-Event Preparation: Participants will receive a detailed brief at the Rep's meet, which includes company background, nature of the crisis, etc. Every team has a company name and comeback strategy which they have to market using a tagline based on song titles or lyrics. The participants can choose any relevant song lyric or title that represents their product in a way they deem fit. They can be as creative as they want in marketing their products using a videographic format.
Advertisement must include:
A visual advertisement(3 to 5 minutes maximum)
Participants must be a part of the advertisement
Strategic approach to addressing the crisis
Expected impact on the target audience
There must be no use of unparliamentary language or offensive imagery.
The advertisements may be played onstage.
Round 2(OFFSTAGE):
Meme Making (30 mins ): After the teams have successfully marketed their products, they will be allotted a time limit to prepare memes, slandering the other companies and their products. Participants need to adhere to a strict guideline which will be provided to them in order to avoid any offensive conduct. Marking will be done on the basis of their quality and number of Memes.[ LAPTOPS WILL BE NEEDED FOR THIS ROUND]
Q&A Session (PRESS CONFERENCE )(1 hour 30 minutes): Judges and audience members ask questions about each team’s campaign. It will also be open to questioning by the competing teams and upon doing so, they will be rewarded with points based upon their scrutiny of the situation and relevancy of the questions.
Twist - During the press conference, the teams can be presented with the memes framed against them, without prior notice (the memes being presented as public opinions). The participants have to be spontaneous in defending their company.
Round 3: Talent Auction (1 hour) (OFF STAGE)
Overview: In this round, job applicants' CVs and qualifications will be shown to the participating companies. Companies will bid for the applicants they believe best fit their requirements (which will help them to prevent further crisis). After the bidding, companies will have to justify to the judges why they chose to "hire" the employee.
Bidding Process: Participating companies bid for the job applicants they are interested in hiring. Bidding will be done using a mock currency or points system allocated to each company. The highest bidder "hires" the applicant.
Justification by Companies: After the bidding process, each company that successfully "hired" an applicant will have to justify their choice to the judges. Justifications should focus on how the applicant's skills and experiences align with the company's needs and culture.
Judges may ask follow-up questions to assess the validity of the justifications.
